BC Elite Invitational 1 — BC Chess Masters

Overview

BC Elite Invitational 1 is the first event from BC Chess Masters — a two-day, five-game tournament for players currently rated 2000+ CFC. Games are played at classical time controls with increment, the setting where real chess is decided.

The field is capped and registration runs on a first-come, first-served basis. Players rated 1900–1999 CFC may request a play-up into the field. Every game is CFC-rated.

Format & Eligibility

Time control: 50 minutes + 10-second increment (Rounds 1, 2, 3) · 90 minutes + 30-second increment (Rounds 4, 5).
Eligibility: Open to players currently rated 2000+ CFC. Players rated 1900–1999 CFC may be granted a play-up by special request (a $20 play-up fee applies — see Entry Fee).
Rating: All games are CFC-rated. A current CFC membership is required to play — see the CFC Membership note below.
Forfeit time: TBD — publish forfeit time, e.g. 30 min after round start

CFC Membership. Every player needs a current CFC membership to be rated. Join or renew at chess.ca/en/players/membership-join ↗ before the tournament.
